Carlos Eichelmann Kaiser was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, in 1980, and studied f ilm direction and production in Madrid. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as an executive producer on television series such as Killer Women and The Team. In 2011, he opened his own production house, Wabi Productions, which produced Trisha Ziffâs Ariel Award-winning documentary The Man Who Saw Too Much (2016). In 2018, as the result of a literary workshop led by Michael Rowe, he wrote Red Shoes, which he shot in 2021 after obtaining the support of EFICINE.
An elderly peasant lives in a remote town in the Mexican mountains, where his life passes slowly and without disruption. One day, he receives distressing news and must travel to the capital, where, in search of redemption, he faces a brutal and unfamiliar world.
