Sally El Hosaini is an multi-award-winning screenwriter and director. Her acclaimed debut feature, My Brother the Devil (2012), won major prizes at the Sundance Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival. She was chosen by Danny Boyle to direct Babylon, the television series he co-created and produced with Jesse Armstrong for Channel 4 and Sundance TV. Based on a true story, The Swimmers follows a journey from war-torn Syria to the 2016 Rio Olympics. Two young sisters embark on a harrowing trek as refugees, putting both their hearts and their champion swimming skills to heroic use.
