Oscar Hudson trained as a social anthropologist before swapping ethnography for the world of low-budget music videos in London. It was there he honed his highly distinctive style, making work defined by innovative storytelling forms and a playful sense of dark humor. Today, he is one of the most celebrated and in-demand voices working in the short form globally. He has won more than 100 major awards, including a Primetime Emmy, the Cannes Lions Grand Prix, the UKMVA Best Director prize, and the Short Film Audience Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Straight Circle, his debut feature-length film, had its premiere in La Settimana Internazionale della Critica at the Venice International Film Festival.
Two enemy soldiers stationed on a remote border in a vast, featureless desert descend into a state of profound disorientation after they forget which side of the border is which. As they grapple with their identities, loyalties, and the absurdity of their situation, their isolation slowly gives way to an unfathomable nightmare that will blur the line between friend and foe.
