Biographie

After studies in screenwriting and directing at New York and Columbia Universities, Julie Delpy wrote, directed and starred in 2 Days In New York, a follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2 Days in Paris. She collaborated with Richard Linklater on his Before trilogy: she co-wrote Before Sunset and Before Midnight, which brought her numerous best screenplay awards, while Before Midnight earned her Golden Globe and Spirit Award nominations for Best Actress. Delpy has worked with many esteemed directors, among them Jean-Luc Godard, Agneiszka Holland, Krzysztof Kieslowski and Jim Jarmusch .
In 2009, Delpy’s The Countess, which she wrote and directed, was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival.
She won the director’s prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for Skylab in 2011. More recently, her Lolo and My Zoe were both selected for the Toronto International Film Festival and, in 2021, the series On the Verge, which she wrote, directed, and produced, was presented on Canal + and Netflix.
