
Kaouther Ben Hania constantly explores the boundaries between fiction and documentary. In 2024, her film Four Daughters was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature after being presented in competition at the Festival de Cannes. The film received numerous prestigious awards and was sold in more than 40 territories. Her previous film, The Man Who Sold His Skin, was nominated for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film in 2021, representing Tunisia. All her other films have premiered at prestigious festivals including Cannes, the Los Angeles and Venice International Film Festivals, AFI FEST, the Locarno Film Festival, the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, and the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. The Voice of Hind Rajab premiered in Venice, where it was awarded the Grand Jury Prize.
January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A six-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, the volunteers do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.
