Julia Ducournau is a French director and screenwriter. She first gained recognition with her short film Junior, which won the Audience Award in La Semaine de la Critique at the Festival de Cannes in 2011. Her debut feature-length film, Raw, had its premiere in La Semaine de la Critique in 2016, and won the FIPRESCI Prize. The film screened at major international festivals including the Sundance Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, and received multiple awards. In 2021, Titane, Ducournau’s second feature premiered in the Official Competition at Cannes and was awarded the Palme d’Or. It received critical acclaim, was featured at key festivals, and earned several nominations, including BAFTA and César Awards. Both films were distributed worldwide. Her third feature, Alpha, premiered in the Competition at Cannes in 2025.
