As CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Bill Kramer is the driving force behind the world’s most influential film organization. Since 2022, he has been orchestrating the Academy’s global operations and programs, including the Academy Awards, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, talent development and preservation initiatives, and services for the organization’s over 11,000 members. Prior to his current position, he was Director and President of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, overseeing all aspects of the project’s management, design, physical development, curating, fundraising, and creative direction. He previously served as the museum’s Managing Director for Development and External Relations. Kramer has led significant capital and comprehensive fundraising campaigns for the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and the California Institute of the Arts. He also has served in senior fundraising and external relations positions at the Sundance Institute and the Columbia University School of the Arts. Kramer holds a Master of Urban Planning and Public Administration degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
