
Park Chan-wook was born in Seoul. He studied philosophy at Sogang University and later worked as a film critic while pursuing a career as a writer-director. His works include The Moon Is... the Sun's Dream; Joint Security Area; Oldboy; Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance; I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK; Thirst; Stoker; Lady Vengeance; The Handmaiden; and Decision to Leave. No Other Choice, his most recent film, had its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
You Man-su is a happy man who works as a manager in a paper factory. He loves his wife, his children, his dogs, and his home. When he is fired, his life is turned upside down. He cannot bear the thought of losing his social status and the lifestyle that goes with it. To regain his lost happiness, he has no choice but to eliminate all his competitors.
