Born in Casablanca in 1975, Laïla Marrakchi is a French-Moroccan director and screenwriter. She first gained recognition in 2005 with her first feature-length film, Marock, which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the Festival de Cannes. She went on to direct Rock the Casbah (2013), which was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Marrakchi also works in television, notably directing several episodes of the French series The Bureau.
For three days, a family gathers at the home of their late father to reminisce and share their memories of the deceased. It is summertime, so everyone must leave the beaches, gather together, and transform the house into a place of mourning. Commotion is at its height, particularly since this man has left behind only women to discover his secrets.
