Mohamed Achaour was born in Casablanca in 1972. After studying literature and becoming involved in the university film club in Mohammédia, he trained as a screenwriter and director. He made Percussion Kid, his first short film, in 2006. His first feature-length film, Un film, followed in 2011. The Pilgrims (2017), a social comedy that explores social and economic injustice, was a significant hit in Moroccan cinemas.
After a long life of suffering and injustice, four elderly women decide to rebel in their own way against the years they lost—years of misery. They are joined by Samia and Hassan, a young couple they meet on their journey to fight injustice.
