Jérôme Cohen-Olivar spent most of his childhood in Morocco, where he shot short horror films on Super 8, before he moved to Los Angeles. He studied there at UCLA, and later at the Lee Strasberg Institute. His first short film, Susan Susan, was bought by Disney. After Kandisha and Midnight Orchestra, Oren Peli's production company Solana Films optioned Little Horror Movie, which Cohen-Olivar produced and directed. He then focused on a more personal project, Autisto.
Malika lives in daily fear that her severely autistic son Adam will run away forever. A tragic event makes her consider placing him in a specialized home, until she meets Mahmoud, a graveyard keeper who speaks with the dead at night. Adam and Mahmoud soon form a deep, silent bond, but Malika, overwhelmed with the fear of losing her son, asks Mahmoud to stay away. Reluctantly, destiny takes over, propelling the two souls into another dimension of connection and hope, beyond words and fears.
