Born in 1977, Adriano Valerio is an Italian director. His short film 37°4S (2013) received a Special Mention at the Festival de Cannes and won a David di Donatello Award. His first feature film, Banat: the Journey (2015), was presented at the Critics' Week at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for the David di Donatello and Golden Globes Awards for Best First Film. His short film Mon amour, mon ami (2017) was presented in the Orizzonti section at Venice and at the Toronto International Film Festival. His short documentary Les Aigles de Carthage (2020) opened the Critics’ Week in Venice. His short The Nightwalk (2021) won the Prix Canal+ at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, while Calcutta 8:40am (2023) was presented at the Rome Film Fest and won the Nastro d’Argento.
